BOOKING 

  • You can book a session (FLOW sessions or Private Infrared Sauna) or a discovery chat online, via the Fresha app or call us on 02102619160 

    If you book via the app, please note if you purchase a membership, intro or pack, you then go ahead and book a casual session. Please look out for a confirmation email with instructions and etiquette info. 

    • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you should avoid using the infrared sauna

    • Anyone under the age of 18 (under 18 needs parent/guardian in attendance, under 13 not permitted) 

    • Anyone over the age of 55

    • Anyone with cardiovascular conditions

    • Individuals prone to bleeding

    • Anyone with blood pressure or feel faint at times. 

    • If you suffer from chronic health conditions, it is always best to consult with your physician prior to use

    • If you have any concerns or are unsure about using an infrared sauna, it is best to consult your GP or physician prior to use

  • We believe using our space is an individual experience, and as such there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to visiting SELF. 

    However, science-based protocols do indicate that using recovery techniques (like saunas and ice baths) between three to seven times per week is when benefits are optimal. 

  • We’re sorry to hear we won’t be seeing you! Please cancel your booking as soon as possible to allow someone else to book the session.

    + Late Cancellation Fees are applied if outside of a 12 hour period.

  • Out of respect for other clients, we would appreciate any bugs staying at home. Rest up - we look forward to seeing you when you’re better! 

  • Yes, absolutely! Enjoying a sauna session with a friend is a great way to catch up.  Our Private sauna seats up to two people. Our Wellness Space sauna seats up to 3 people comfortably. Our standard guest fee of $15 per person per session charge applies if you bring a friend along unless of course you are on a membership.

EXPERIENCE 

  • Private sauna –  please enter via the Featherston Street side rear door. 

    Wellness Space // Flow sessions – please enter 5 Ward Street. 

    You will have received some information via email with your code for the doors. Bear in mind, this changes monthly.

  • The best option in the private sauna is nothing at all. Swimsuits are great too, but if you feel more comfortable having clothes on, lightweight clothing is best. Please note, in the shared space, swimwear must be worn. We also recommend bringing clothing that is loose fitting and comfortable to put back on after your session – there is nothing worse than trying to put on tight clothing when you are hot and sweaty!

  • One of the most important ways to prepare for your infrared sauna session is to hydrate. Drinking enough water before, during and after your sauna session to avoid dehydration. We also recommend eating a light meal before your session to avoid feeling faint or light headed as the sauna will activate your cardiovascular system and increase your heart rate, much like going for a slow jog.

  • It’s important to feel comfortable before and after your sauna or FLOW session, so we suggest wearing loose clothing, or packing a spare pair of clothes if you can, as you will continue to sweat after the session as your body continues to cool down. Alternatively, if you are finishing on an ice bath, we recommend warming up with warm clothes. We encourage you to BYO drink bottles and feel free to fill using our cold water filters.
    The private sauna space provides towels however, FLOW sessions you are required to BYO towels. If you have forgotten, no stress!  These are available for you to add to your booking for $5/ towel.

  • You have just flushed out a lot of toxins so be sure to replenish and rehydrate. At SELF Wellness  we provide complimentary filtered water, just bring along your own drinking device. If finishing on an ice bath, be sure to warm up as naturally as you can . Increase blood to the limbs with some movement like squats or tai chi and enjoy a complimentary tea to warm up the core.
